Norwegian Broadcasting is left wing - no doubt
If you ever had doubts about the political "neutrality" of NRK,
the subsidized Norwegian Broadcasting, you better read this, an excerpt from
their web pages. No further comment required. IMO, this comment is almost
unbelievable (Norwegian only):
Kanadisk dokumentar. (2:3) For 150 år siden var aksjeselskap en ganske
ubetydelig institusjon. I dag påvirker de verdensomspennende multinasjonale
selskapene våre liv like mye som Kirken gjorde i tidligere tider. Denne
serien spør hva det innebærer at så mye makt gis til en institusjon som i
seg selv er amoralsk med ett overordnet mål - å tjene mest mulig penger for
aksjeeiere.
Is it immoral to make money? Altruism seems to be the only
acceptable philosophy in this country.

The nature of socialism
I am subscribing to my local newspaper this summer,
Adresseavisen from Trondheim. Last week it was an interview of Hildegunn
Eggen, a professional actress at Trøndelag Teater. In a brief column she was
asked about the bad summer weather in Trøndelag region this summer and how she
felt about it. Her answer was that she felt they deserved better weather, bit
she seeked comfort in the fact "we are all suffering together". IMO, this is the
core of socialism. It doesnt matter if we improve for example living standards,
the only thing that matters is that we are at equal standards all of us, good or
bad. If we are really suffering we can seek comfort in the fact that none have
it better than us.
